There are select BCBS PPO plans that have coverage for several services involved in the dental implant and hybrid denture procedure. The services include bone grafting, bone reduction, implant placement, and the interim and final prosthesis.
Getting covered by medical insurance includes proving the medical necessity. In the view of the medical insurance company, this means showing things like infection, atrophy, and pain and how they are contributing to overall decreased quality of life. That could mean things like gastrointestinal issues, frequent headaches, taking an abundance of over-the-counter pain medication, frequently requiring antibiotics, and things like that.
If we can get it approved through medical insurance, your out-of-pocket costs are generally whatever your out-of-pocket max is, which means that the cost of this procedure for YOU goes from $60,000 for a full mouth to whatever that number is. With most insurances, we see an average out-of-pocket max of about $3000.
Visits are usually Exam, Smile Design (these can be done back to back days for people traveling from a distance), Surgery (2-6 weeks after exam estimated), Suture Removal (3 weeks post surgery), Follow ups/Scans for Finals (2-4 Months Post Op depending on healing), Final Delivery (4-6 Months Post Op).
We can do some of the appointments via telehealth to minimize the trips to our physical location. In most cases, we only need you to come to our location 3-4 times, including the surgery itself.
